Kids and Fine Art. an amazing combo..but..
.
There are a few things to think about both for photographers and clients.
.
* Age: it takes patience and focus to do these portraits. Good age is generally above 7-8 yrs old.
* Time management: make sure there is time for breaks and make sure there are snacks available. It is tough for an adult to stay focused through a session, so we need to take really good care of the young ones.
* Consultation is key: Finding clothes that is suitable for the style we are efter but also something the kids like too. Getting them on board with the plan is essential for a great result.
* Capture the Story: Fine art portraits is perfect for telling a story. Consider a thematic approach or include elements that is saying something about the kid. Do they love books? Bring the dog? Or do they love butterflies? Any interest that can be used is great but just adding a prop, any prop, can make the images more interesting and spark the viewer’s curiosity.
* Color harmony is for me another important thing to think about when you doing fine art portraits but hey that goes for all fine art portraits . Not just for kids :)

But the biggest advice of all is.. Just do it! It sure is a favorite photosession of mine.

I hate absolutely..

Nothing about corporate portraits. Hahah sorry it was just to lure your down here in captions so I could expand more about the love for these types of portraits.
.
Many of my fellow photogs think of shooting headshots etc as “bread and butter” work but I don’t agree.
.
There is something really awesome about getting somebody in front of the camera that might not want to be there, that might be nervous and anxious but then I am able to reach them, we connect and then they actually think it turned out pretty swell.
.
Now THAT is a beautiful feeling for me.
.
I also love the variations of work.
And Personal Branding is just the best.
It’s like a fine Art portrait session but for professionals.
Including consultation, picking wardrobe, planning the shoot and then posing and shooting and the edit for the style wanted and needed!
.
What’s not to love?? 😄😄🙌🏻
.
So here I share mainly my Fine Art portraits, and for business images, Linked In is more suitable.
.
And Facebook gets a little bit of both.
.

I always feel freaking amazing and on top of my game!
Nope.. not true.. far from it..
.
There are days when I feel lost.
There are days when I am scared
There are days when I definitely feel that imposter syndrome knocking on my shoulder.
.
So we all have those days sometimes.
.
When it happens, I try to remind myself of the good stuff.
I remind myself of the hard work I put in.
I remind myself to be proud over who I am and what I have accomplished.

I remind myself of the journey I’m on.. and it’s not supposed to be a straight road.
